I prepare myself for this night’s rounds To fetch ingredients for my latest plate The fundamental piece for my creation Only the finest Only the thinnest Cutlets Plunging into this suburban neighborhood Sacking these homes searching for the primal food The tenderest cuts for the secret marinade It’s the perfect blend of madness and hate Sharpened knives so no one can stand in my way I’ll take the lot tonight, no matter who I have to slay The marinade awaits Imparting flavor – the neighbors can’t wait The carvers knife makes short work Of those who cannot grasp The depth of flavor that I crave No one to stop me now Old Johnny with the cleaver Susan with the paring knife At last we fill our basket Tonight’s feast will be vast My fellow enthusiasts May I have your attention Tonight’s meal consists of my greatest perversion Long pork belly from Harry Short ribs from little Timmy Along with Karen’s greatest assets… You might say tongue and cheek!
2.
Kitchen Gone 04:28
This is my realm - you have no voices here I am the master and commander of this kitchen that you smear This rating hopes to deter my food preparation but the county’s health code is written in fear and trepidation they think that I’ll go quietly but are mistaken I have nothing to lose, my resolve is unshaken One last meal is what I’ll make in my forbidden kingdom All they see is ragged run down walls Taking all that’s left of my sustenance compendium My final culinary haul Brings me to where I stand - a broken desolate man Whose wish is simply to retain my home And spend my time preparing dishes only I can To deny me borders on the profane A final feast for all my friends With special ingredients if you made no amends A tragic loss of life it’ll be But it pales in comparison to all that I see The anger of this cruel injustice You might say is too much but I feel defined by it My detractors fall and I feel no remorse It’s what they deserve for what they’ve done

I step upon the bathroom scale And see neon digits reflecting back at me A sudden gain of inches packed right on my waist An extra kilo it goes right straight to the face My chin has doubled now it can barely fit through classic t-shirts Hell, I can’t even sit There’s neon digits now that I can’t even see I’ll never eat at Wendy’s© even if it’s free! Punish my waistline Can’t wear these jeans anymore We’re sticking now to sweatpants Until I feast no more I feel the bloating reaching critical levels A mass above what this frame can securely hold I tell myself that this is all okay But in reality I look like a bouquet I try to diet but it seems not to work A caloric deficit was not just all it took Starving myself for days but my mass still has grown This punishment now takes a life all of its own Why has this curse fallen on me? I cannot even stand to see myself I am more gut than human now A side effect of all the trash I eat… Wendy’s© for lunch and Mickey D’s© for dinner A stop at Coldstone© in between This is why I ain’t getting thinner!

We’re the organic machine A chain of processes Survival mechanisms Dependent on The nutrients we choose to ingest But we must be aware The perils of overconsumption There is a cost for negligence A cumulative effect Will brings these walls down Our time is short but it’s not too late To take control of our destiny We must choose to change Or fall prey to the terminal filet disease We fail to think about the consequence An ever present need to consume Brought upon by this age of abundance But we must recognize - convenience has become our downfall We are the architects Unplanned design - A fragile mind Reactionary construction As it stands assured destruction Impostor sustenance for cheap Leaves our bodies unfulfilled and weak Generated by the establishment Masquerading as our nourishment We’re the organic machine A chain of processes Survival mechanisms Dependent on The nutrients that we choose to ingest But we must be aware The perils of overconsumption There is a cost to negligence A cumulative effect Will brings these walls down Our time is short but it’s not too late To take control of our destiny We must choose to change Or fall prey to the terminal filet disease The responsibility lies in our hands To give our bodies the strength A shortcut here means surely death We must destroy the cycle or risk it form a new The research is abundantly clear This is unsustainable (Obesity increases the risk of high blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol levels, which are risk factors for heart disease and stroke. Obesity can affect the way the body uses insulin to control blood sugar levels. This raises the risk of insulin resistance and diabetes. Obesity in adulthood are associated with large decreases in life expectancy and increases in early mortality and similar to those seen with smoking. Obesity in adulthood is a powerful predictor of death at older ages. So what do we do?) Break the vicious cycles that bind us To a life of unsustainability Life is all too fleeting To waste it in a prison of our design We can put this temple back together We have the bricks and the mortar We have our will – stronger than we know A fire that burns when we glow

Roastwell 47 04:31
It all started with a few six packs This idea stopped us in our tracks A mistake at the lake To the site we went Dust in our trail What’s at stake It’s our fate How could we know what was to be next? Captured by aliens by the scruff of our necks We didn’t make it past the first guard at the gate Before they grabbed us and stuffed us in a crate A white light shone on us and we began to rise In only seconds we were up in the skies We should have never come here We were promised alien cheeks but there are none There are none I don’t know what we thought would happen But it certainly was not this To be forced to eat this alien food When it all tastes like piss It’s been days now and our regret endures We’re held as prisoners by these amateur cooks Concoctions of strange liquid shoved right down our throats I wished I’d stayed home - that last one tastes like goat!
7.
My stomach is a bottomless pit A chasm through which all sustenance will pass Metabolism overworked into exhaustion But truthfully, stopping has never been an option Determined to make a name for myself Aspiring for the highest glory For the most food consumed at a buffet My name carved into history Night has descended and so have I Upon the grounds of my ascension Pitiful staff are simply unprepared for me This corral will be anything but golden “Now I am become appetite, destroyer of buffets” (Plucking morsel after morsel to decimate the food supply The chef and cooks cannot keep up – demand outpacing supply Sickening synthesis of gluttony and cunningness Staff and patrons are horrified – his hunger is endless) You might call me a patron saint But in reality I’m the devil Manners and consideration be damned My cup shall indeed runneth over Every meal that passes through my teeth Does nothing to fill the void inside Still I may yet become a legend There’s a dining room for me in hell
8.
I can’t remember when I first became aware A feeling deep within that I just could not ignore It triggers a desire that feels so unconventional A need to manifest entire vats of maple syrup My home is filled with all these jars, I’m a valued customer The grocery store knows me by name The neighbors think I am Canadian When in truth I just want to drink in peace Now what I see Reflecting in the mirror Just a normal guy to the exterior world But ever since then That one exciting moment I’ve been reduced to a… I have become the one I am the incarnated syrup abuser My only goal is to consume this amber gold My father warned me When I first felt this compulsion He shared with me his precious private stock The richest amber I’ve ever laid my eyes on With a flavor so intense I’ve never let it go

We rolled up to our favorite Burger and shake establishment In search for crispy golden fries Delicious at the best of times Otherworldy on this fateful night For we have one more ingredient Absolutely perfect and delectable Ultimately just a simple vehicle In this journey of the soul It didn’t take much time To devour our massive pile Of psychedelic au gratin A cold sweat runs over me It’s not quite what I thought it’d be How did we end up in this place? We’ve been jettisoned to outer space I felt myself come alive. Elevated to new consciousness Awakened from a false reality That coincides with this space I felt myself come alive Emerging to new beginnings An unexplored landscape before me Begging for undivided attention

about

"In truth, the comedic value of the whole enterprise becomes redundant after it becomes clear that AT THE PLATES are a credible and enjoyably nasty musical force."
